Dodge created a massive disturbance in the car community with the release of the 707 horsepower Challenger Hellcat back in 2016. At the time it was the most powerful, mass produced vehicle. Since 2016, FCA has trickled the Hellcat treatment (which is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8) into the Charger, Grand Cherokee, and Ram. However, FCA’s most audacious move was stuffing the Hellcat motor into its 3 row family hauler, the Durango. The Durango is not the only fast SUV available but it is THE fastest SUV in production with a third row of seating. The Durango is so fast, that it will out-do the exotic SUV from Lamborghini, the Urus. The Urus has 641 horsepower, a highly complicated AWD/launch control system, and a price tag well over $200,000. Yet it is still no match for the domestic Durango in both the quarter mile and 0-60 race. Watch for yourself as the Durango Hellcat demolishes the Lamborghini Urus and Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
Pricing for the Durango Hellcat starts around $90,000 and FCA claims production will only last for 1 year. So if you are interested, you better act fast.
